Since 2004, Body Mechanics has been working with Canadian and American professional and national athletes as well as the weekend worriors of the world.

What makes Body Mechanics your best choice in physical performance therapy is years of international competiton experience and a committment to a lifetime of athletic pursuits.

We provide the premium sports therapy experience with quick and accurate soft tissue diagnostics, and a 1 stop shop for your body that will make you a better, faster, smarter athlete.  With an evidence-based, hands on, 1 on 1 approach to treatment, you will see results that will accelerate your return to activity, sport and competition.

Trained in physiotherapy, manual therapy, yoga and soft tissue needling, along with 20+ years of experience in hospitals, clinics & traveling with sports teams, we offer an evidence-based approach with the knowledge and expertise to advise and manage complicated neuromusculoskeletal conditions affecting movement. Using a biomechanical approach to assessment and treatment, we can manage pain and improve healing time as well as overall posture and performance.

The Body Mechanics approach follows the principles of  'Mobility Stability Strength & Flexibility'.  Normal mechanics promote the body's natural lubrication and nutrition of joints and tissues.  However due to trauma and inflammation the body instinctively 'stiffens up', altering the mechanics to avoid pain and re-injury.  This creates protective or pathological movement patterns that accelerate degenerative forces on the joints and tissues.  Using physiotherapy knowledge and manual therapy techniques, normal joint mechanics, or mobility, can be regained by manually returning the gliding mechanisms to the joints and tissues lost to injury.  Once joint and soft tissue mobility is achieved, muscle activation can then be retrained through range and improve stability.  Progressive forces are then employed to improve tissue strength while maintaining flexibility. The long term benefits of the Body Mechanics approach is to minimize the degenerative forces on the body & joints and allow the body to perform efficiently throughout a lifetime of physical activity and pleasure pursuits.
